Simon Mahatty was born in Central Florida and today he lives there still.
When he was nine years old, Simon read Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea and loved it so much he decided to read Jules Verne's complete works, beginning with Around the World in Eighty Days. He got as far as the elephant part before realizing life's way too short, man, and also the book was due back at the library.
Simon is the author of Pelagic Shores and he has won no awards, which is fine.
